OLAP the abbreviation of  On Line Analytical Processing is a decision support software used for analyzing business  information and reports. The user can analyze the data in all different ways such as  budgeting, planning, simulation, data warehouse reporting, and trend analysis etc. The main purpose of  OLAP is to make multidimensional calculations, which enables the large business to complete within seconds. By using this tool, the user can manipulate  fast array of possibilities. 

There are many advantages of  this tool, one of  them are that it gives the consistence calculation without bothering the data complication and speed. Another advantage is it's  multidimensional data presentation that allows the administrator  to pull down the data from an OLAP database in large or specific volume. We can also say that all large or small calculations can be calculated and presented in one column of spreadsheet or in shape of  mountains of data. All these process can be held within few milliseconds. 

OLAP is also used  for  comparatively study of  two or more data in a very simple way and can be presented in a  simpler or multidimensional  form. So this enforces the planning manager to make strategic planning according to previous years comparatively reports. So that the selling of the company can be enhanced.
