A web hosting service is a kind of Internet hosting service that permits individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web (WWW). Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own or lease for the use of their clients as well as for providing Internet connectivity, usually in a database center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet from the servers.

A web host is a company having gigantic computers round the clock to provide web space, connectivity and database storage and data maintenance services for their clients who host on any web hosting firms. These computers are known as web server and they have unique IP numbers, and connected by other computers with the Internet. The web-hosting servers also support the web language, scripts and script codes depending upon the configuration of the servers. For instance, it serves to store HTML files (web pages), graphic files, CSS files, Javascripts etc.

When users type a web address into the address bar by typing or commanding a unique ip (internet protocol) address, browser sends out a request to retrieve that particular web page. The request surfs across the Internet to the appropriate web server and attempts to locate the web page on that server. If the request is successful, the web page displays on computer screen.
