Can you explain me a little the geography of Chile?
Latitude of Chile is:-30 and Longitude of Chile is: -71
One of the most prosperous nations of the world, Chile is located along a long and narrow coastal strip that stretches right from the Pacific Ocean at the west to the Andes mountain in the east. The total area on which Chile is spread is 756,950 square kilometers, which makes it the 38th largest country in the world followed by Zambia. Chile?s population according to 2011 census is 17,224,200.
Located at the geographical coordinates of 30° South and 71° West, it shares its boundary with Argentina at the east, Bolivia at northeast, Peru at the north and Drake Passage to the south. A large part of Chile?s population lives in central Chile because of its fertile land. The Andes and the coastal mountain of Cordillera de la Costa surround most of the Chile. Some of the mineral resources along with copper and nitrates are found in the northern region of Atacama Desert. Rivers along the Andes Mountains are principally used for producing hydroelectric power and irrigation.
Generalization of climate in Chile is very difficult because of the considerable differences in the altitudes throughout the country. In the desert areas, the hot conditions are moderated by the cool winds flowing from Peru?s shore. In central Chile, summers are hot and dry while the cool winters receive most of the rainfall.
Chile has been one of the favorite destinations of the tourists with its various tourist spots like San Pedro de Atacama, Chungara Lake, Parinacota and few others.
With its growing development and some beautiful locations, Chile is the place you can look forward to explore.
