No SDK with the name or path

When i run any downloaded application on my mac professional ..it always returns a message

no sdk with the name or path....version xyz. Base SDK Missing.

What is this error and how can i set the correct SDK to it.

If your XCode is returning message like Base SDK Missing or No SDK with the name or path for XYZ version

follow the steps below and change the setting..

Project->Edit Project Settings->Build->Base SDK->Latest SDK (4.2)
Project->Edit Project Settings->Build->iOS Target Deployment->iOS 4.2

Project->Edit Active Target (myTarget)->Base SDK->Latest SDK (4.2)
Project->Edit Active Target (myTarget)->iOS Target Deployment->iOS 4.2
And, If you still have problems:

Finally, Click the box that says base SDK missing, and select:

Simulator -> Debug

It worked for me .. hopefully work for you too.
