What is SDIO?

Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) is a standard devices for interchangeable memory.  Using SDIO card, user can  get the option of  interchanging the data between portable or non-portable memory. Usually  SDIO card  is  like a smaller computer or a powerful software application that is mostly being used in smartphone, Bluetooth adapters, Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, television tuners, cameras, scanners, voice recorders, and even fingerprint readers. SDIO is the advance device of SD cards. We can say that SDIO is the hybrid of  both SD card and I/O output device.

Memory can be stored on various sort of  devices like portable and non-portable,  external and internal etc. SDIO is one of  its form. It is a smaller secure digital device that is inserted in the 'slots' of  electronic portable devices such as smart phones, laptops, mobile phones. The SDIO card  has a wide range of  memory capacity and have the capability to transfer the data in both directions. Each SDIO card has designed for perfect functionality.

Slots of the electronic devices have the propriety to accept only one form of portable data storage device. That is enough to fulfill the requirement of the system. SDIO is quite suitable for greater memory requirement. It provides the high definition and high resolution features to the portable system.
