It is especially designed mouse having 2 rollerball in which one ball moves horizontally while other moves vertically. This makes extremely easy for the user to moves on the page weather surfing on the net or working on the spreadsheet.

Scrolling is a very essential part of the computer. Without scrolling the user can see the matter if the page is beyond the screen size. Horizontal and vertical bars represents that the user will have to be move in the both direction horizontal and vertical for viewing the available material. With traditional mouse, user can scroll the mouse only bi-direction from up to down or from down to upward. For carrying the cursor in the horizontal line, user has to move the whole mouse and has to click on the desired point or user can also use the direction keys of the keyboard. On the other hand with 4D mouse, user feels free to moves the cursor on the desired position. So it saves a little time and effort as the users have to move only a single finger not the entire hand.

Uses and Advantages

4D mouse is a multi utility device that can be used in several performance e.g. online reading, offline work, spreadsheet applications, graphical application, big designing applications like Auto-Cad and gaming etc. Besides these, 4D mouse has other many advantages like when user put the cursor on the vertical bar accidentally or cursor slides off many times, no screen jumping occurs while using 4D mouse. It is also claimed in a study that carpel tunnel syndrome and soreness of the fingers may occurs in those who uses computer more than eight hours a day regularly because of moving traditional 2D mouse, while the users can get better results only a slightly movement of their first fingertip.

4D mouse is available in the market in wired, wireless and optical formats as well as some companies are providing desktop keyboards with built-in 4D mouse pads. 4D mouse is also available in the laptop.
