Fleet tracking device have always formed an inevitable part of the fleet business. They are the best companion of the owner and true mentor of the manager of a fleet.
All the tracking devices fall under two types:
Passive Device: These devices do store the information like the speed of the vehicle, fuel usage, halts that are made by the vehicle, how long were they made, route of the vehicle and driver profile too. But the all these information are stored and can only be viewed once the fleet or vehicle is back from the fieldwork. This is the reason that they lack behind. Owner cannot monitor the real time movement of his fleet.
Fleet tracking device like GPS (Global Positioning System) and GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite Services) are mostly used by the owner and manager of the fleet. They work on the signals that are emitted by the satellite and the tower that are close to fleet. Using these signals the receiver that is attached to vehicle determines the exact position of the vehicle.
Tracking device work in collaboration with the softwares that are installed in the system. The tracking device collects and store the data and software display the same to the owner and manager of the fleet.
They are like mentor for the manager and driver. They help the driver to select the most efficient path to their destination and also save them from any type of accident. They help the manager in keeping records and other daily work.
Fleet tracking device must be used by the manager and owner of the fleet if they want to grow in the fleet business.
