Mysql For Loop are used to execute the block of code to a specified number of times till the specified condition is true.

Understand with Example

The Tutorial illustrate an example for 'Mysql For Loop'.To grasp this example we create a procedure ABC.The procedure include a begin-end that consists of declare variable  'a' and set a default value of  '0'.The for loop execute the code till the condition remains true.Incase the value for variable become more than 5,the for loop exists from the block. 

 

 

 

 

Create Procedure named ABC:

DELIMITER $$  
CREATE PROCEDURE ABC()

   BEGIN
      DECLARE a INT Default 0 ;
      simple_loop: LOOP
         SET a=a+1;
         select a;
         IF a=5 THEN
            LEAVE simple_loop;
         END IF;
   END LOOP simple_loop;
END $$

Call Procedure

The Call Procedure statement is used to invoke the procedure ABC .
