In Python also you can easily take input from user.

I will show you two examples:

• input
• sys.stdin

You can use any of the above two to take input from user.

Here is example of reading data with input method.

#take input from user
name = input("Enter your name: ")

#print input
print(name)

Here is output of program:

>>> 
>>> name = input("Enter your name: ")
Enter your name: Deepak Kumar
>>> print(name)
Deepak Kumar
>>> 
>>>

With sys.stdin you can do like this:

import sys
for line in sys.stdin:
  print(line)
