Western Sahara is an African country located in the northern part of the continent. This territory has been a bone of contention between Algeria and Morocco for a long time now. They were involved in a war that ended in 1979. Efforts are being made to make peace between both countries so that they agree on a peaceful resolution. Morocco governs most of the area of Western Sahara and the rest is governed by Algeria.

Western Sahara is located at the geographical coordinates of 24.5 North and 13 West. It is spread across an area of 266,000 square kilometres, making it the 76th largest country in the world. A population of 513,000 lives in the country according to 2009 estimate. The countries with which Western Sahara shares its boundaries are Algeria in the northeast, Morocco in the north and Mauritania in the south and east. Atlantic Ocean lies to the west of the country. El Aaiún is the capital and the largest city in the country.

Though most of the land in the country is infertile and arid, but northern town of Bou Craa is rich in the Phosphate deposits. The phosphate mining along with fishing and nomadic herding drives the economy of Western Sahara. Due to the conflict, this country does not enjoy diplomatic relations with the other countries. economic policies are being improved upon to take the nation forward.

Hi, I wanna just correct a mistake. Western Sahara is not a country yet. It needs to have its dependence first to be called as such. For the time being, it's part of an African sovereign state of Morocco. The reply is not neutral. The status of the Sahara is not decisive yet. Shame on you!
