Hello Friend,

We were explaining you the directory structure for jsp and servlet applications.

A web application folder has to be created inside webapps folder of apache tomcat. It must be given an appropriate name like examples.

Directory structure

apache-tomcat-6.0.16
    |
    |
    webapps------>examples(web application folder)
                  |
                  |-----jsp          |-----classes(servlet classes)
                  |                  |
                  |-----WEB-INF------|-----web.xml
                                     |
                                     |-----lib

The directory structure should be just like above. Just create the above directory structure and place the files in their appropriate places.

We were explaining web.xml. If it was not there in your directory structure, then you need to create the web.xml. There is no complicated code in web.xml. It is used for servlet mapping.
