Description of code:

This is the example code for using the getAttributeNode() method. We have created one div component and sets the attribute id with the value "div" and attribute "align" with the value "center". Now we have created two buttons which calls two different functions which takes the element object by the method document.getElementById() and returns the attribute node reference by the method getAttributeNode(). Here is the full example source code for "getAttributeNodeExample.html".

<html>
<body>
  <script language="JavaScript">
   function getAttributeNodeID(){
  var id = document.getElementById("div").getAttributeNode("id");
  alert(id.value);
   }
  function getAttributeNodeAlign(){
   var align = document.getElementById("div").getAttributeNode("align");
   alert(align.value);
  }
</script>
<div style="background: #ff9900; width:'100%';" align="center">
<font color="#0000ff" size="12pt">
<b>Get Attribute Node Example</b>

<div style="background: #0099ff; width:'100%';" align="center">
<div id="div" align="center">This is a div element</div>

<input type="button" value="Get Attribute Node(ID)" onclick="getAttributeNodeID();">
