Mysql Date in where clause

                         

Mysql date in Where clause  is used to return the filter records from table employee1 on the basis of condition specified in WHERE clause.

Understand with Example

The Tutorial show you the syntax to create Mysql data in Where clause. The given Query create table employee1 is used to create a table employee1 with field name and data type respectively.

Query creating table:-

CREATE TABLE employee1( Empid int(10),Empname varchar(60),date date ); 

Output:-

Query inserting data:-

The insert into add the records or rows value into the table employee1 .

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('01','Girish','2008-12-20');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.02 sec)

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('02','Komal','2008-12-21');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.02 sec)

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('03','vineet','2008-12-21');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.03 sec)

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('04','Amit','2008-12-20');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.02 sec)

Query viewing data inserted:-

To view the records from table employee1 ,we run the select Query to retrieve the records.

mysql> select * from employee1;

Output:-

+-------+---------+------------+
| 1 | Girish | 2008-12-20 |
| 2 | Komal | 2008-12-21 |
| 3 | vineet | 2008-12-21 |

Query date where clause:-

The Query below return you the filter records from table 'employee1' on the basis of condition specified in where clause. It return you the records from the employee1 where date is '2008-12-20'.

mysql> select * from employee1 where date = '2008-12-20';

Output:-

| Empid | Empname | date |
+-------+---------+------------+
| 1 | Girish | 2008-12-20 |
| 4 | Amit | 2008-12-20 |
+-------+---------+------------+
