Mysql Date Order By is used to sort the records of the table by specific column..

Understand with Example

The Tutorial covers an example from 'Mysql Date Order By'. To understand Date Order By in Mysql , we create a table 'employee1' with field attribute and data type respectively.

create table : The create table statement create a table column of table.

Query to create table:-

 

 

CREATE TABLE employee1( Empid int(10),Empname varchar(60),date date ); 

Output:-

Query to insert data:-

insert into : The insert into add the records or rows into the table 'employee1'.

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('01','Girish','2008-12-20');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.02 sec)

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('02','Komal','2008-12-21');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.02 sec)

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('03','vineet','2008-12-21');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.03 sec)

mysql> insert into employee1(Empid,Empname,date)values('04','Amit','2008-12-20');
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.02 sec)

Query to view data from the table created:-

mysql> select * from employee1;

Output:-

Query for viewing the date field in ascending order using order by:-

The Query given below return you the records from a table in the ascending order by column date.

mysql> select * from employee1 order by date asc;
