A British overseas territory, British Virgin Islands is a group of islands located on the Caribbean waters. Arawak from South America first inhabited these islands and Christopher Columbus was the first European to have sighted the islands way back in 1493.

British Virgin Islands are located at the geographical coordinates of 18.3333 North and 64.8333 West. The islands are spread over an area of 153 square kilometres, making it the 21st smallest country in the world. The inhabitants of British Virgin Islands experience a tropical climate that is moderated by the winds flowing from the ocean. There is very little seasonal variation. These islands are also one of the most economically sound islands among other ones on the Caribbean waters.
