Generalization of climate in Chile is very difficult because of the considerable differences in the altitudes throughout the country. In the desert areas, the hot conditions are moderated by the cool winds flowing from Peru?s shore. In central Chile, summers are hot and dry while the cool winters receive most of the rainfall.
