Covered largely by the Kalahari Desert, Botswana is a small nation with a total population of 2,029,307. Spread over an area of 581,730 square kilometers and located at the coordinates of 22 S and 24 E, Botswana is entirely landlocked. Emerging from being one of the poorest countries of the world in 60's to one of the fastest growing economies of the present, Botswana is a large exporter of Diamonds. Namibia borders Botswana at its west and north while South Africa borders its south and Zimbabwe its northeast.

Some of the major water bodies of Botswana are Limpopo River Basin and Chobe River. Makgadikgadi pan, a salt pan, is located in northern Botswana. Home to exotic wildlife, blue Wildebeest and Antelopes are the most commonly known animals found here. Inhabitants experience a semi-arid climate where summers are pretty hot and humid and winters are mildly cold.

Economy of Botswana has been growing at a fine speed. Financial institutions are located throughout the country with profitable banks and organized industrial sector. Tourism along with Diamond exports, have been the backbone of Botswana's economic system. But unemployment is still a major area of concern in an otherwise flourishing economy.
