According to the definition of International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), a business analyst is any person who performs business analysis activities, no matter what their job title or organizational role may beâ?¦

BABOK defines the role of business analyst as:

  • Elicitation: Exploring the business needs, requirements and information related to the concerned product and projects.
  • Analyzing Requirements: Analyse the requirements of the project to organize and define proper models meet the project goals and objectives.
  • Specifying Requirements: Proper documentation of requirements in a specified format to share with the stakeholders.
  • Validating and Verifying Requirements: Mapping the key requirements to get the client approval and to meet the quality standards.
