Virgin Islands (US) are an organized, unincorporated United States territory located in the Caribbean waters and form an insular area of United States. These islands form a part of Virgin Islands archipelago. Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493, this part of the Virgin Islands has been a US territory since 1917. Before that, it had been a Danish colony for close to 2 centuries.

The temperature, which is much to the liking of the inhabitants and the tourists alike, varies little with changing seasons.
