Some of the important lakes of the country are Lake Shirwa, Lake Chiuta and Lake Cahora Bassa. The highlands that are a part of Mozambique's topography are Niassa, Namuli and Tete.
The tropical climate of Mozambique is accompanied with heavy rainfall on the coastal area while the mountainous regions are drier and cooler.
