The Gobi Desert dominates the southern Mongolia while mountains and hills form the northern and western part of the country. Khüiten Peak, at a height of 14,350 feet is the most elevated peak of Mongolia. Continental type of climate is experienced in the country with hot summers and extremely cold winters. Northern part of the country receives highest rainfall.
