Bordered on the northeast by Red Sea, Eritrea is located in the Horn of Africa. Placed at the coordinates of 15° North and 39° East, Eritrea is spread over an area of 117,600 square kilometers. A population of 5,224,000 lives here. Eritrea shares its boundary with Djibouti in the southeast, Ethiopia in the south and Sudan in the west. Eritrea also enfolds the Hanish Islands and the Dahlak Archipelago. Asmara, the capital city of Eritrea, is also the most populous city of this country. The three tectonic plates, namely an Arabian plate and two African plates, tow away from one another at the Afar Triangle. Eritrea used to have a large population of elephants, which were used by the Egyptians in wars.

The economy of Eritrea largely revolves around Agriculture. Farming is occupation of 80% of its population. The government of Eritrea has always paid a special attention towards betterment of the education system contributing to a high literacy rate. Eritrea has a diverse culture adopted from many countries though Italian traditions have the highest influence. Bollywood films along with the American cinema are quite popular among the people here.
