Ans:

Java and flex has the following similarities. Both are object Oriented, Encapsulation, Inheritance, Abstraction and Polymorphism are implemented in both of the technologies.

The package like imports.
Availability of Classes in the scripting language.
Capabilities Arrays & ArrayCollections.
On the UI end, similarities to SWING.
