The water boundaries that surround Ukraine are Black Sea in the south and Sea of Azov in southeast. Kiev is the capital and the largest city of Ukraine.

Fertile plains, plateaus and rivers characterize the geography of Ukraine. The mountain range of Carpathian Mountains is located in the west and its most elevated peak is Hora Hoverla at a height of 2061 metres. Some of the important rivers in the country are Dniester, Dnieper and Southern Buh.
