Home to the tribe of Fang, Equatorial Guinea is an African country located in Central Africa. It is comprised of a Continental Region and an insular region, which are home to numerous islands. Equatorial Guinea has the geographical coordinates of 2° North and 10° East. The total area of this country is 28,050 square kilometers and the estimated population is 676,000.

The mainland region near the equator, Rio Muni shares its boundary with Gabon in the east and Cameroon in the north. The coastal plains of Rio Muni go up to hills that have a height of more than a thousand meters. A large part of the country is covered with forests. However, there is a scope for farming on the elevations of Bioko. Equatorial Guinea has a tropical climate. While in the months from June to August, Bioko receives rainfall and Rio Muni is dry, the months of December to February bring showers for Rio Muni and Bioko remains dry.

Oil reserves of the country have a large impact on its economy. Main occupations of people are farming and fishing. The literacy rate is not very high in Equatorial Guinea. Spanish and French are the official languages of this country. The culture is a blend of Hispanic and African traditions.
