Management is the process by which we skillfully and efficiently utilize the available resources to get the desired goal and objective. As organization is like a system and management is basically a human process in which a set of activity done in a planned way so that the desired goal can be achieved.
Obviously the utilization of available resources efficiently and skillfully is the art of management, which helps in achieving the desired goal and objective. Utilization of available resources efficiently and efficiently means the utilization must be done according to a planning way otherwise meeting the objective goals could be difficult and impossible.
Management has five functions on which objective and goals of the system depends:
§ Planning: Planning is the important part of management process where objective of the organization got set and generates. All the strategy, which formulated got shaped here and it decided whether it would be of short term, medium term or long term. Some of the planning based on immediate action, which got special priority. It is the significant part of all the management functions as all the decision taken here for the future interests. It is planning in which it decides that what is the goal of organization and how it will be achieved.
§ Organizing: When a plan put on the place, now it comes to organizing which is another major function of management. To meet the plan as per the desire it is necessary to provide the assignments to the right person and place. The role of manager or management is very crucial at this point as he has to decide various responsibilities and resources to the right candidates. The task and stint are crucial, as it has to be awarded to suitable candidate so that it can be done successfully and efficiently. Inefficiency done work can panic for the organization and it can harm the all functions of the management.
§ Staffing: After organizing the work and responsibilities to the right manner, now it comes to staffing in which manager decide his staffing and selecting the right candidate for the right job. Human resource, which is the largest aspects of any management system, a lot of awareness should be shown here as selecting of right candidate for a suitable job is the key factor for the successful completion of the work done. After selection and recruiting of a right candidate for a system, it must be ensure the proper training and technical aspects to the employee, which is essential for the implementation of the job.
§ Leading/Directing: It is another significant function of the management, which is responsible for the converting the company?s goal into the reality. Without a proper direction or leading no function of the management can work efficiently. Leading is not only means to say people to do their job rather there is a need to inspire the employee with positive attitude to do their job within time frame. There is a need to motivate people and employee to perform their work in better way. Management should inspire and motivate the employee for better job performances and also for a reward attitude.
§ Controlling: In this the main execution of the plan is monitored that the process of working is whether in accordance with the planning or not. The process of execution and performance is monitored here as the performance is on the right place or not which was planed initially for the desired goal. It also monitored the efficiency and skillful work for the betterment of the desired goal. The monitoring and evaluating the process provide a chance to the manager to modify and change if required within time for the successfully completion of the project.
