Hi,

Here is the answer.

Previously Collection Frame Work was not part of java.util package. Later some of the classes were re-engineered Known as Legacy Classes. Legacy Classes are SYNCRONIZED(Ctrlng accessibility over the resource). Ex:Vector/Stack/Hashtable/Dictionary/Properties.
