Amazed nobody's made an executable .jar file yet.,

Calculators, clocks, RSS feed doo-hickeys; are these the only things people are idiot-proofing from Java source code into executable and cross-platform .jar binaries? Pardon my mix-and-match of the lingo, but I happen to be very much chagrinned. The same-ware apps from KDE built to run in Windows are more useful 'toys' than what I've found available from the Java world (last I checked, the simple Qt3 games etc. were not only the most popular K builds, they were the Only Ones). I doubt highly that the Java universe of coders and innovators would care to earn a like reputation as the C++ coders who do the "KDE Thing."
