Conversion from byte to char:

In this tutorial we will learn how to convert a byte type value to char type value.

Description:

This program will take a byte value from console and provides a conversion to char type data. The line byte mybyte = Byte.parseByte(buffreader.readLine()); reads the byte type data from console. The line char mychar = (char)(mybyte); converts the mybyte byte type value to mychar char type value.

Code:

import java.io.*;

class bytetochar {
public static void main(String[] args) {
try {
// Reads the value from console
BufferedReader buffreader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
System.out.println("---Data Conversion from byte type to char type---");
System.out.println("Enter byte type value: ");
// Read byte type data
byte mybyte = Byte.parseByte(buffreader.readLine());
// Convert byte type data to char type
char mychar = (char)(mybyte);
System.out.println("Converted value from byte type to boolean type is : " + mychar);
}
catch (Exception e) {
System.out.println(" Error " + e);
}
}
}
