Manipur is a hilly state and travelling in the state is not so easy as it is in plains. That?s why there is no railway network in the state. There are only two means in Manipur : by Air and by Road.

How to Getting Manipur By Air

Tulihal Airport in Imphal is the sole airport that connects the state with Delhi, Kolkata Guwahati and Agartala. From here, you will have to opt the road commuters to reach to your destination.

How to Reach Manipur by Train

As earlier mentioned, there is no railway network in the state. Even though travellers can deboard to Dimapur in Nagaland (215 km (134 mi) away from Imphal) or Silchar in Assam (269 k.m. from Imphal) to reach in the state. The road transportation facilities are available from both the places.

Reaching Manipur by Road

The major towns of the state are well connected with intrastate road and interstate road network that account to 7170 k.m. in length. The National Highway NH-39 and NH-53 passes through the state that links Manipur with the rest of the country.
