Its materials have been spread into other buildings over the years but a few remnants of this original fortress can still be found around the current Feroz Shah Kotla.
Part of these ruins is a large pillar from more than two thousand years ago. It is a red sandstone pillar that is nearly thirteen meters tall.
The current Feroz Shah Kotla was built around the area in 1883. The first official India cricket match did not take place in the area until 1948. This will give all sorts of people around the area a better view of the action from all sorts of angles. This venue can fit a little under fifty thousand people when it is arranged to its fullest capacity.
