This API is a new, open source version of the former RollingSoft product, JTKDateTimeHelper. If you loved the RollingSoft products, you will find JTimepiece to be just as good, if not better than JTKDateTimeHelper.
JTimepiece is one of three projects that were inspired by the magazine article Converting PowerBuilder to Java by Robert Breidecker. The article, which ran in the November 2000 issue of PowerBuilder Developer's Journal (Vol 7 / Issue 11, Sys-Con Media), talked about functionality needed in Java in order to easily convert a PowerBuilder application to Java. As it turns out, the features needed for a conversion are the same ones that are useful for all Java developers. JTimepiece, also written by Robert Breidecker, is a project that nicely completes one of the features mentioned in the article.
