  Tutorial: Awesome

Awesome Aspect developed Stinger after many years of experience working with development groups that had to struggle with the issue of validation. We\'ve applied that background in our design for Stinger and are happy to be able to offer it free of charg

Tutorial Details:

Stinger is an HTTP request validation engine based on regular expressions for use in J2EE (servlet and JSP) environments. Developers specify simple rules in an XML format called Security Validation Description Language (SVDL and Stinger applies them to requests. The philosophy of Stinger is to provide developers with all the information they might need about what went wrong and let them take the appropriate action.

The requirements that Stinger was designed to meet are described in an OWASP article by Jeff Williams of Aspect. The article provides much of the rationale for why Stinger works the way it does.
