  Tutorial: Installation-Free J2EE Client Application

A J2EE application client with a SWING- and SWT-based user interface that interacts with JMS 1.1-compliant JMS providers, such as WebSphere MQ and the Service Integration Bus.

Tutorial Details:

IBM Client Application Tool for JMS (Java™ Message Service) is a J2EE application client. As such, this tool is intended to run inside a J2EE client container; the tool has been tested with the J2EE client container that is shipped with WebSphere Application Server, Versions 6.0, 6.0.2.x, and 6.1.

As opposed to conventional J2EE application clients, IBM Client Application Tool for JMS does not require a corresponding J2EE application to be installed on the target application server. IBM Client Application Tool for JMS simply interacts with JMS resources that have been defined within the JNDI name space of the target application server. The tool connects to a naming service to locate JMS-related resources and then uses these resources to interact with the relevant underlying JMS provider.
