Windows Tips Screen Resolution

Adjusting your screens resolution could greatly enhance your computing experience.

Your screen resolution is measured in pixels. It is measured in the format: WIDTHxHEIGHT. The two most popular sizes are 800x600 and 1024x768. The numbers stand for the amount of pixels squeezed between the width or height of the screen. If you have more pixels on your screen they need to be smaller in order to fit, and with smaller pixels emerges a better looking picture on your screen. When setting your resolution you best bet is to select the highest resolution you can.

Limiting factors will be you computer, some video cards can only go so high, your monitor, some monitors can only go so high, and your eyeballs. So basically set it as high as it will go, but don't make it so you can't read the text on the screen anymore (duh). Now for those of you with LCD monitors, the kind that are really narrow (i.e. not the ones that look like mini TVs) only one resolution will look good on your screen. You can use others but it will look funny if it is not set to its native resolution. One final note, don't ever go below 800x600 because nothing will fit on your screen.
