Introduction to MooSock

MooSock provides the low level methods to send and receive data over a network (such as the Internet) using TCP/IP. You can also send information through an Intranet or Local Area Network (LAN). You can create clients and servers for any socket: FTP, HTTP, POP3, SMTP Email, Telnet, IMAP4, IRC, MSN Messenger, etc. You can also build simple chat applications using MooSock as well.

With MooSock, you can create a server application in which other clients can connect to. For example, you can create an IRC server which allows connects from different clients: an MMF IRC client, a Jamagic IRC client, and the Mirc client. Each client will be able to communicate with each other flawlessly.

Creating server-side applications with MooSock .
You can create a server application for any socket that provides the protocol and commands in their specific RFC document. This includes Telnet servers, IRC servers, E-mail servers, FTP servers, etc. When creating server-side applications, you should design your application to only be a server. Develop a separate client application. MooSock doesn't like applications that are both a server and client.
