Tutorial Details:
Design Photoshop to Dreamweaver
1. First download our premade and sliced template so we can begin. By looking
at this example you can also see how you slice a layout to make it fluid, how to
slice the links, etc, etc... In the zip file you will find 1 psd, 1 html file
and an images folder with all your sliced graphics in there. First lets open our
psd in photoshop so we can examine what it looks like. Now you should see
something like mine..
You may not have the fonts I have on my system so your
fonts could be differenet but thats no problem. Ok, you see the slice the arrow
is pointing too? Look harder..! Now this is the slice that will expand down our
screen to form our fluid, iframeless layout. And next, onto the garbage slice.
This slice is just what it says, Garbage...we won't need is since it is exactly
like our 'happening' slice but bigger.. Now go ahead and delete all that funky
text if you wish, but DO NOT PUT TEXT ON OUR 'REPEATER' AKA 'HAPPENING' SLICE!!
I can use caps! Ok, enough play...Now I've already outputted this file just for the sake of somebody saying..."But it wasn't the same in DW as yours!" ...but if you were wanting to ouput your you would just go to File>Save For Web and you would end up with 1 html file and an image folder just like you see in the zip file.
