Tutorial: Dreamweaver Dreamweaver and Studio MX Alerting a user when no matching records are found Tutorial

This tutorial shows you how to add functionality to your results page that will alert a user when a database search returns no matching records.

Tutorial Details:

Alerting a user when no matching records are found

This tutorial shows you how to add functionality to your results page that will alert a user when a database search returns no matching records. For example, if a user searches for a Wildlife Project branch in Texas, and a Texas branch doesn't exist, the results page will display a "no records found" message instead of the page elements normally used to display the results. You must build and publish the results.cfm page in Wildlife Project 14: Building a search application , before proceeding.

This tutorial is the fifteenth in a series of Macromedia Studio MX tutorials that teach you how to plan, design, create, and deploy a fully-functional website. To see all of the tutorials in the series, visit the Macromedia Studio MX page on the Macromedia Dreamweaver Support Center. A complete list of tutorials is also available at the Macromedia Designer and Developer Center .

This tutorial series uses a fictional organization, The Wildlife Project, to demonstrate website asset development. If you haven't already done so, be sure to read the Project overview section in the first tutorial, Planning your Macromedia Studio MX website , and view the completed sample site.
