Validating Flash forms with Dreamweaver and the JavaScript Integration Kit for Flash 5
The JavaScript Integration Kit for Flash 5 is a set of Dreamweaver extensions that make it easier for you to add interactive features to your Flash movies.
Included in the kit is a set of Dreamweaver behaviors called Advanced Form Validations. With these behaviors, you can verify that a user has entered valid data, such as phone numbers, credit cards, and addresses, in a Flash form. You can also prompt the user to fill in required fields.
View the completed project . Fill out the fields, then press the submit button. If your data is valid, a "thank you" page appears in your browser window. If your data is not valid, an error message appears. For example, if you enter an e-mail address without an @ symbol and a period, an error message prompts you to enter a valid e-mail address.
In this tutorial, you'll prepare a Flash form for validation, import it into a Dreamweaver document, and apply the Advanced Form Validations behaviors.
This tutorial assumes that you are familiar with assigning actions in Flash and have a basic understanding of assigning JavaScript function calls. You should also have a basic understanding of how forms are processed.
