The SLAX 5.0.7 is released
now.
Using 2.6 Linux kernel with support
for many SCSI devices; added KDE 3.5 and X.Org 7; added Squashfs 3.0 support,
should be backwards compatible with 2.2; added newest Unionfs 1.1.2 which fixes
many bugs but cause the following: 'uselivemod' doesn't work well and 'configrestore'
is untested but should work; hard disk installer has been removed in this
version.
I'm doing my best to note down all changes made in each
new version of SLAX. You'll find here about all new features, addons and
bugfixes in the newest version of SLAX so you could decide whether to download
it or not.
SLAX is available as an ISO image of the CD. It fits on
small 8cm CD-R(W). Burn it with your favorite cd-writing software and then boot
from the CD. You might want to check your BIOS to assure it's set to boot
the CD prior the disc. Read changelog
and known bugs
before downloading please.

These editions are very special in their size. One fits
128 MB USB Flash Keys and the other one fits even 50 MB creditcard cd. Be
aware that these editions are heavily stripped down, you will miss a lot of
libraries to run many SLAX modules.

SLAX PE is a pocket operating system which fits even
128MB USB Flash Drives. It contains only XFce desktop, Mozilla Firefox, beep-XMMS,
Gaim, AbiWord.
