PC-BSD 1.0RC2 Released!
The latest cut of PC-BSD, version 1.0RC2 is now available! This update adds KDE 3.5 support, as well as some additional features / bugfixes. ISO's may now be downloaded from our main download page. Users currently running under PC-BSD 1.0RC1 can also download a self-installing system update, which upgrades the system to 1.0RC2. * Upgraded KDE to 3.5
* Fixed loading of "kcm fileshare" KDE module.
* Online update checker now runs at system startup.
* Only approiate sound module is loaded now.
* Disabled DMA support during system installation process.
* Some special characters are now prohibited from password creation.
* Many packages have been updated to current versions.
* System tool now uses portsnap to update ports.
* New PBI Crash Handler.

- This core update provides a much needed UI performance
boost, and now
works with much more hardware.

* Added a graphical Language / Keyboard selector at beginning of installation process.
- Lets users select the install & system language they wish to operate under.
- Also allows keyboard models / maps to be selected, for a wide range of functionality.
* Added the Network Manager utility.
- Lets users control and modify their network adapters, setting values such as
IP addresses, Netmask, DNS, Gateway, and Host name.
* The system now ships with Linux Binary Compatability pre-installed.
