You're probably familiar with the popular proprietary commercial package Norton Ghost®, and its OpenSource counterpart, Partition Image. The problem with these software packages is that it takes a lot of time to massively clone systems to many computers. |

| Kiwi Linux 7.10 is available |
| The Kiwi 7.10 live CD for i386, based on Ubuntu 7.10, is available. |
Modifications to Ubuntu 7.10 include:
1. Romanian and Hungarian localization and language support packages besides English
2. removed evolution, rhythmbox, ekiga, Asian fonts, input methods and languages other than en/hu/ro
3. removed Windows apps from the LiveCD
4. added audacious audio player, inkscape, thunderbird, vim, mc, MS TrueType fonts and unrar support for file-roller
5. replaced totem-gstreamer with totem-xine, added libxine1-ffmpeg and libdvdcss2
6. included firefox plugins for java, flash and mplayer
7. improved networking support by enabling the pppoeconf GUI, adding firmware for the speedtouch USB modem, including ndisgtk
8. usplash artwork
9. gdm artwork by Xubuntu artist Jozsef Mak
10.added installer only option to the boot menu which runs only ubiquity (good for machines with 256M). This is on the Ubuntu CD as well, accessible via the F6 key but not in the main menu.
A metapackage called kiwilinux-desktop depends on most of these additions. This makes it a lot easier to switch to/from a vanilla Ubuntu 7.10 installation.
