After some gap due to a busy few months for many of the BeleniX folks a new release is now available. Get it from the download page. Lots of changes have happened and here is a summary:

1. Based on OpenSolaris Build 60

2. Full Modular Xorg 7.2 based on the Solaris X Consolidation sources (X-src-20070410.tar.bz2):
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/x_win/sources/
The full modular sources are available at:
http://www.belenix.org/binfiles/X-src-20070410-full-modular.tar.bz2
This includes: Xorg 7.2, Fontconfig, Freetype2, Mesa, XscreenSaver

3. Compiz 0.5.0 3D Manager integrated into Xfce and KDE. Works only with Nvidia display cards (with the included Nvidia driver). The Compiz port is a result of the work done by Erwann Chenede:
http://blogs.sun.com/erwann/entry/compiz_0_5_0_packages

4. Added the GNU Parted port to OpenSolaris and also added GParted(Experimental) with the ability to resize NTFS(Vista & XP via ntfsprogs 1.13.1), FAT, EXT2(e2fsprogs). The Parted port is available here: http://code.google.com/p/solaris-parted It was done by a bunch of Bangalore college students. This is still work in progress.

5. Compact Bourne Shell (similar to busybox) with built-in commands based on the work of GN Shivakumar and a couple of students. This improves boot time by reducing forks and execs.

6. Create pseudo devices for logical partitions via a lofi extension. The first logical partition is /dev/dsk/c*p5. You can use prtpart -ldevs to display the device names.

7. Usbdump integrated into the LiveCD. You can now boot from the CD pop in a USB stick and execute usbdump in a terminal to get BeleniX on USB.

8. Experimental ability to use Linux swap without corrupting it

9. Ksh93 bundled in. This is not yet the default /bin/sh or ksh but will become the default in 0.6.1.

10.Complete SVR4 packaging for the base OpenSolaris OS including packaging for some of the Free Software. Full packaging in targeted for 0.7.

11.Updates to various software like Xfce 4.4.1, Gtk, Cairo, Pango, Koffice 0.6.2, Masayuki's Drivers etc. Only some Koffice components like, Kword, Kpresenter etc. are included.

Added Ktorrent. Re-introduced Midnight Commander after people complained :)Added dependencies required for GParted: Glibmm, Gtkmm, Cairomm, libsigc++. Added Pkgbuild.

12.Integrated the iSCSI initiator implementation from Network Storage sources.

13.Configured a few Firefox tweaks and 2 plugins.

14.3000 OpenSolaris manpages

15.Ability to check for the presence of a Kernel Crashdump on harddisk swap partition before using it. Earlier versions till 0.5.1 will simply overwrite the crashdump info.

This check is there for both Solaris and Linux swap. For Linux swap the check is limited to the LKCD implementation at present.

16.A whole bunch of script cleanups.

17.Fixed the problem of hdinstaller not copying /opt.
