| Zenwalk Linux 5.2 Beta "GNOME" is available |
| We are proud to announce that Zenwalk Gnome 5.2 beta is ready for testing. Based on Zenwalk current, it features the latest stable Gnome 2.22.3 desktop, customized with beautiful Zenwalk artwork. Also included are linux kernel 2.6.25.4, the latest X.Org 7.3 suite of X servers and the next generation of the Netpkg package manager. Zenwalk Gnome follows the "one app per task" Zenwalk philosophy and provides a complete programming environment for coders. |
Changes since the alpha version:
- All known problems/bugs have been fixed.
- It should work under VirtualBox now
- Evince has taken its place in the iso again
- The metacity compositor is now turned off by default, as there are problems with it and the nvidia open source driver. There is a menu entry under the Settings menu that will help you switch it on if you want and your graphics card can handle it. This should make it faster in older computers too. Tell me what you thing about it.
