Linux Distribution: Mutagenix
Url: http://mutagenix.org/

Mutagenix is a Linux live CD based on Slackware Linux and Linux-Live live CD build scripts.

About Mutagenix
Mutagenix is a suite of Slackware based LiveCDs. Currently (, the suite consists of a rescue disk and a KDE desktop disk -- I am looking for a reasonable GNOME install to use for the Mutagenix GNOME disk. The desktop's each have the rescue disk as the underpinning foundation with all the tools that come with a rescue disk available.

Mutagenix is built on Slackware Linux and uses Slapt-get as the foundation for the Mutagenix build system. A simple hard-drive installation tool is included. The build system is available for download in the download sections and includes copious notes on building the kernel and supporting software for making your own LiveCD.

It is also extremely easy to boot up on Mutagenix, add and remove programs, configure to your taste and then remaster a new CD image. Burn it to disk and you have your own customized Mutagenix LiveCD.

1. Multiple CDs to choose from. Each is built using the Rescue CD as the base install.

2. Starts automatically as a dhcp client.

3. Integrated Firewall which auto starts on DHCP networks in stealth mode.

4. Slapt-get, with multiple rc files with different sources, is included.

5 Cpan2tgz for automatically downloading and installing perl modules.

6 Ext2 partitioned USB keys will be mounted as your home dir (/root) so your environment can be saved.

7 An xorg.conf on the mounted USB key will be used instead of the default supplied xorg.conf

8 Test applications for creating a load across a network. Includes smtp and http sources and sinks.

9 Windows password changing utility.
