Lunar Linux 1.6.4 has been release View |
| Lunar Linux 1.6.4. We've reached a new milestone, 1.6.4 is our most polished release to date. Our hope is that everyone will enjoy it as much as we've done making it. The effort of improving our installer and iso will of course continue. Stay tuned next year for some exciting new features that are in store for Lunar! |

Lunar Linux 1.6.4 Beta 1 has been released View |
| We encourage everyone to give the latest ISO a test spin, your feedback is invaluable to us. With your help we will make Lunar even better!
We know it has been a long wait for a new ISO to become available that fixes all the problems using the old ISO's, so wait no further! The 1.6.4 stable release is just around the corner and we hope it will please everyone. As mentioned in our previous announcement XOrg and Xfce4 had to be removed from the ISO, as it was just not worth the effort to maintain them. Instead we can put that effort into further improving our installer and ISO quality.

Lunar Linux 1.6.2 Beta 1 has been released View |
| We're happy to announce the first beta release of a new series of Lunar linux installer ISOs. Our new ISOs will be as easy to install as 1.6.1, but pack an extra punch - this series of ISOs pre-installs a basic Xfce 4.4.1 desktop with X.Org 7.2, together with Firefox, Thunderbird, Pidgin, Audacious, GIMP and a few other basic desktop utilities. We hope to make it easy for everyone to both enjoy playing and learning from a true source distro environment and be productive quickly. The extra applications will give new users a fast start and should install easily on most (even brand new) hardware with the 2.6.22.1 kernel, but also give the user a welcome feeling on a freshly installed lunar-linux system. |

Lunar Linux 1.6.1 RC2 is available View |
| This is the first production-ready ISO release that installs both on x86_64 and i686, which gets us ready for our final 1.6.1 release on 2 architectures. This ISO comes with GCC 3.4.6, glibc 2.3.6, linux 2.6.19.2, Perl 5.8.8, and other rock solid base components. The new kernel means better PATA and SATA support. Updated discover allows better hardware recognition, and smooth installation on non-common hardware. The x86_64 version is pure 64-bit and thus does not provide GRUB as a boot loader. |

Lunar Linux 1.6.1 RC1 is available View |
| 1.6.1rc1-i686 is released for general testing into the Lunar community. This ISO is an incremental update to 1.6.0 and features full updated packages, including kernel 2.6.18.2. This ISO is meant as a refresher for newer systems and new installs, reducing the time to get those updated to the latest packages and providing support for newer systems that require a more recent kernel for hardware support. The ISO has the same size and packages as the 1.6.0 one. -mm, -prepatch and -rc kernels were removed altogether from the build code, as they are too out-of-date for the general user. |
