JSP decode URL

JSP decode URL is the process of converting all Hex Characters back their normal form. . The Tutorial shows you an example to decode the specific URL.

Understand with Example

The Tutorial illustrate an example from 'JSP decode URL'. To understand and define this example we import a page directive that include java.net.URLDecoder class in JSP. The JSP include the scriptlet <% and %> characters (expression ,but without the sign at the start of the sequence.).The JSP allows you to write block of  Java code inside the scriptlet. In this scriptlet, we are going to decode the specified url. You can see in the given example, we have defined an encoded url string. Therefore we have used the  decode() method in order to decode the url depending on the platform's default encoding.

URLDecoder.decode(" " ):  The method used for decoding the encoded string URL enclosed in a double quotes.

The out.println is used to print the decoded String.

Here is the code of unescape.jsp

<%@ page import="java.net.URLDecoder"%>
<%
String decoded = URLDecoder.decode("http%3A%2F%2Fwww.roseindia.net");
out.println("Decoded String is: "+decoded);
%>
