Java Error Identifier excepted occurred when the programmer do not specify the data type of a variable inside the class definition

Understand with code

In this Tutorial we want to describe you a code that help you in understanding the Java error identifier excepted. For this we have a class name Identifier Excepted, Inside the main method we have an input stream reader that is used to decode the byte code into a character stream.BufferReader is used to return you an object that is used to read the text from the character present in inputstreamreader.We declare a string number num1,num2 and int add variable .The System.out.print ln is used to print the respective number and read them  by the readline method ( ) and store in a add variable by adding the both integer by parsing the both integer number. The code show an Identifier error as we have not specified the proper type of data type for private  x variable.

IdentifierExcepted.java

import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.InputStreamReader;

public class IdentifierExcepted {
     private x;
 public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {

        InputStreamReader inputStreamReader = new InputStreamReader(System.in);

        BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(inputStreamReader);

        String num1;
        String num2;
        int add;

        System.out.print("1st num : ");
        num1 = br.readLine();

        System.out.print("2nd num : ");
        num2 = br.readLine();

        add = Integer.parseInt(num1+ Integer.parseInt(num2);

        System.out.println("Sum = " + add);

   }}

Output

Compiling source file to /home/girish/NetBeansProjects/errors/build/classes
/home/girish/NetBeansProjects/errors/src/
IdentifierExcepted.java:
6: <identifier> expected

     private  x;
error
BUILD FAILED (total time: seconds)

To remove this error you have to give proper data type for variable x in private x; i.e you should give any data type here like private int x;
