This five day intermediate-to-advanced level course is essential for software engineers, architects, and technical managers.

The concepts and techniques taught in this course are applicable when working with commercially-available EJB implementations from several vendors. Students will learn how to build non-trivial applications with EJB: this includes learning what application programmers can rely on in every EJB product, and where vendors have flexibility; understanding the different design patterns that are built into the EJB specification, and knowing which ones to apply where in your distributed systems design; being able to map your business objects to databases; take advantage of connection pooling, thread pooling, container managed persistence, and other facilities provided by commercial EJB products; understanding the details of Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) and being able to write Remote and Home interfaces.
