HFC means Hybrid Fiber Coax, a kind cable on which data are transmitted. In HFC the data flows over both coaxial and fiber optic cables in both the form traditional and modern. In traditional transmission, the data are being transmitted in letter and number format while in modern technique data streams in audio and video and Internet phone calls. Now days broadband signals are also being transmitted over the HFC besides television signals. The email with attachments and big files can also be transmitted through it. 

To transmit the data over HFC cables, it needs to be a two way directional. Thus it can provide full internet connection service that is necessary in the present scenario for running internet and performing task through it. The cable TV companies usually uses it to transmit the television signals in the trunk-and-branch system format. In this format the TV companies transmit television signals through fiber optic cables as a trunk that is connected to customer?s coaxial cables as the branches.
